Play skills

We work from a strengths-based perspective, recognising each child’s unique skills and abilities, and work collaboratively with parents to help their child achieve their goals.

At Cubby House Therapy, we provide a personalised, fun and play-based approach to intervention.
We celebrate each child’s individuality, as this is what makes them special and unique.
Learn to Play
Learn to Play is a therapeutic program designed for children aged 8 years and younger who may have delayed play skills when compared to that of their peers.
The program offers weekly sessions to help scaffold and build on a child’s pretend play ability, ultimately having a positive impact on their social participation and engagement, emotional development and cognitive skills.
Child Centred Play Therapy
Play Therapy allows children to communicate and make sense of their experiences and feelings via the medium of play, in a safe, non-judgemental and nurturing environment. Play Therapy allows children to develop a sense of identity and self-esteem, and assists with overall emotional intelligence, problem-solving skills and wellbeing. It allows children to better understand their inner worlds, and have greater control and autonomy over their own therapeutic journey, with the support and guidance of the trained Play Therapist.
